Details of curriculum
Nursery curriculum
Nursery curriculum has been developed with an assumption, based on empirical and theoretical understanding that children are generally ready for preschool by the age of 3 years. This curriculum has been designed in a progressive manner for 3 years of preschool education before class I, between the ages of 3-6 years.
All our activities like stories, role play, rhymes aim to stimulate the child’s imagination as he/ she learns and has fun.

Children follow CBSE curriculum from classes I to VI.

SRI Vidhyalaya, Kollengode Annual Report 2020-2021 It is our privilege and pleasure to present before this august gathering the Annual Report for the academic year 2019-2020. Here is a brief record of our school’s activities and achievements in scholastic and non-scholastic fields and infrastructural developments in this academic year. About schoolSchool is under the management of SRI (Society for Rural Improvement). The founding Chairman is Shri Iyyencode Sreedharan (former Secretary of prestigious Kerala Kala Mandalam) and a renowned Poet, Writer and Kathakali Artist. We are happy to inform you, Mr. Iyyencode Sreedharan has been honoured by Kerala Sahithya Academy for his life time achievement in Literature. Presently it is under the leadership of Dr. Prabhakar, Chairman of SRI and Director of SRI VIDHYALAYA. Dr. Prabhakar, a distinguished academician served as a Professor in India, US and Europe for three decades. Dr.Sudhodhanan (Retd.Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry), Trustee of SRI, an eminent social activist and speaker is the guiding beacon behind all our academic and non-academic endeavors. Experts in various fields, such as Education, Literature, Arts, Sports, Cultural activates etc, are involved and supporting this noble academic venture. Our supporters include Dr. Prabahakar’s colleagues and friends, Dr.Muhammed Yunus and Abhijit Banerjee both Nobel Laureates, Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Honorable Member of Parliament, Mr. TK Jose, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Dr.PrameelaDevi, ex-honorable Member of Vanitha Commission and bi-lingual poetess, Prof. (Retd) Vasudevan, Victoria College, Dr. Sandhya IPS-ADGP and Lieutenant General Vinod Nayanar. AVSM & PVSM. For the last two decades, SRI has embarked upon poverty alleviation, socio economic empowerment and educational improvement of the poor segment of our society, especially rural women. Our two decades of experience has culminated in establishing SRI Vidhyalaya with the objective of imparting quality education to our rural children at affordable cost. We are providing CBSE education on a moderate fee, without collecting any donations and provide concessions for deserving poor students. Our mission is academic excellence, harmoniously blended with human, moral and cultural values. Children acquire the knowledge and skill when we make the school environment stimulating and purposeful. When work and effort are valued, the child’s self-esteem is elevated and results in self-motivation. InfrastructureSalient features of our infant school are International level class rooms, an entertaining play area, Audio-visual facility, well equipped computer lab with Internet facility, Library, clean and hygienic dining facility for the kids, spacious auditorium, Basketball court, Table tennis, Chess, Caroms, Football court, Vegetarian canteen, Rain water Harvesting Sump and high standard toilet facilities. We have 28 qualified and experienced teachers and 11 care taking Aunties with love and human touch. Scholastic areasWith greater academic orientation and research skills in core academic areas, students would evolve as judicious young adults with a sense of real self-estimate having true values and principles. The scholastic areas are as follows: (i) Languages include Hindi, English and Malayalam. We focus on listening, speaking, reading and writing skills and, hence, develop effective communicative proficiency. We use digital sessions weekly for better comprehension and communication. We provide training in using dictionary in language class room for getting linguistic proficiency in their professional academic settings. (ii) Social Science intends to make learners understand their cultural, geographical and historical settings. Use of different maps and globes in class room teaching make the students learn easily. (iii) Science/ EVS: We take students to real life experience through nature walks and projects, so that they appreciate the environment. (iv) Mathematical activities include acquiring the concepts and the ability to apply this knowledge and acquired skills in their daily life. Abacus sessions are being provided to the students weekly. (v) The students are getting computer laboratory practical which prepares them for basic knowledge of using computer to solve data processing problems in daily life. Reinforcement classes are being conducted for the academically weak children on all Saturdays. School LibraryThe school library is enriched with the latest materials in literature, science, Art and Fiction catering to the increasing demand and giving the students an opportunity to delve into the world of information and knowledge. A lot of books have been added to the library in this year. We also appreciate and recognize the children who donate books to the school library on their birthday. Co scholastic areas
Art Education, Health and physical Education and Performing Arts envisage the comprehensive and holistic development of children. Students are being given training in performing arts such as vocal music, yoga and drawing by experts. Saturday training sessions in Basketball, Football, Chess, Table tennis and Badminton are being conducted. Virtual celebrations and activitiesØ World environment day was observed on 5th June 2020 by planting saplings at home. Ø Reading day was observed on 19th June 2020 with variety of reading activities for each class. Ø International yoga day was observed virtually by demonstrating yoga postures and asanas. Ø Independence day was celebrated with patriotic fervor and students participated in patriotic song and fancy dress competitions Ø Teachers’ day was celebrated to honour the real heroes/heroines and a video on each teacher was made. Ø Swacchatha campaign was done on Gandhi Jayanthi. The students cleaned their houses. A fancy dress competition was conducted for KG section. Ø Children’s day was celebrated in a wonderful manner. Conducted special morning assembly and teachers greeted all the children. Fancy dress and dance competitions were organized by KG children. Ø The KG department organized colour day celebration, an innovative teaching technique in teaching – learning process. Ø New year 2021 was welcomed with new year message by the Director and Trustee. Ø We conducted Onam and Christmas celebrations which brought festive mood. Ø Flag drawing, poster and map drawing were conducted on Republic day. Ø Virtual annual day was also organized in the month of March 2021. AchievementsØ Athulya of class V secured gold medal in State and District level Taekwondo championship and in Inter club Taekwondo Championship held in Thrissur. Parent Teacher MeetingsOur parents play a significant role in the progress of the school. We conducted meetings after every formal test in order to discuss the steps to be taken for the improvement of our children. We are extremely thankful to the parents who support the school in various ways. Functions at SchoolTo mark the significance of the national, international and cultural days, several programmes and functions were organised at school, thus adding colour and vibrancy to school life. Faculty Improvement ProgrammeChallenging and invigorating workshops and seminars started in month of May helped our teachers to upgrade knowledge, expand teaching techniques, explore pedagogical issues and enhance learning process. Our teachers participated in the training session organized by Ratnasagar group on virtual classrooms Session on storytelling and developmental stages was organized by Macmillan for the teachers. ConclusionSchool was started in June 2015 with Pre-Kg to First standard with about 150 students and our present strength is around 700. Next academic session, we are expanding up to 7th Standard and we are under CBSE Affiliation process. I take this opportunity to express my deep sense of gratitude to our management for the ongoing support. I also extend my heartfelt thanks to all the parents and well-wishers for their continuous support and co-operation that enable us to move forward with confidence and dedication to strive hard to achieve our objectives.
