SRI Vidhyalaya is established in June 2015. School is affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi. It is upgraded to Senior Secondary School in 2023. It is under the management of SRI (Society for Rural Improvement); a Regd. Tax exempted Charitable Trust, founded in 1996 for the alleviation of poverty and socio-economic empowerment of the poor rural women, serving more than 50,000 poor rural women across Kerala & Tamil Nadu. The founder of SRI, Dr. Prabhakar, is a colleague of Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Nobel Laureate.

Dr. Prabhakar, the Director is an eminent academician and social activist, having over 3 decades of academic and administrative experience. After more than two decades of academic service as a Professor in India, US, Europe, etc.. Dr. Prabhakar returned to the rural areas of Kollengode, Palakkad, Kerala and embarked upon alleviation of poverty and socio-economic and academic empowerment of poor rural women and children.

National Reading Day is observed at Sri Vidhyalaya on June 19, 2024. The day marks PN Panicker’s death anniversary. Panicker travelled through the villages of Kerala and popularised the slogan, ‘Read and Grow’

International Yoga Day is observed at Sri Vidhyalaya on June 21, 2024 with great enthusiasm to raise awareness about the various benefits of practicing yoga. It successfully promoted the practice of yoga and its benefits, while also emphasizing its global significance.
