Annual day celebration

SRI Vidhyalaya celebrated its 9th annual day” SRI SWARALAYA” on 23rd Nov, with an amalgamation of various hues display.
The school witnessed the spectacular performances of our zealous tots in dynamic drama, choir, dazzling dance performance
and outstanding theme-based acts. It was followed by some aesthetical acts of yoga, magic, instrumental musical display etc. .
Hon. MLA Sri K Babu inaugurated the function and Adv Premnath, Deputy Director of Prosecution graced the occasion.

As a triibute to our excellent performance, Hon. MLA Babu recommended our two items, Welcome Dance and Fusion Music
to be performed at the Arts and cultural show to be staged at the Keraleeyam festival.

Children’s Day celebration

14 Nov, Children’s Day was celebrated with peppy performances like speech, dance, songs, fancy dress etc.,
especially by tiny tots in KG Classes.

Yet another feather in the cap of Basketball achievement

Exciting news is our Under 12 Boys and under 14 girls Basketball team are again Champions in yet another Basketball
tournament. In a spirited final in the memory of (late) Colonel Natarajan held at SRI Vidhyalaya, both teams won finals convincingly.
Following players were selected as the best players in the tournament:

Kum. Shahina of Class VII

“A well placed Pawn is more powerful than a King”

With immense pride and pleasure, we have successfully conducted All school Palakkad District Chess Championship on 29 Oct 2023.
Honorable MLA, Sri K Babu, inaugurated the program. 350 students from different schools in different categories participated and proved their skills and talents. Budding chess aspirants of SRI Vidhyalaya enthusiastically participated and crowned with Diya of Class 7 winning 2nd position and selection for the State level championship.

 

Our tremendous achievement in Basketball continue during the Pooja season.

Our school Chess team consisting of 16 students from various categories have gracefully returned holding their heads high by participating CBSE South Zone Chess tournament at Delhi Public School,Bangalore.
Considering our just 3 months maiden exposure to Chess, predominantly under 11 and 14 age group, we did a remarkable performance at Bangalore. Ghansham, of class VI ,under 14 excelled with a magnificent performance.

Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashami, is a vibrant and significant Indian festival that marks the triumph of good over evil.

The program began with prayer and pooja .A soul stirring bhajan was presented by the teachers followed by the auspicious moment of” Vidhyarambam  for the kids by  Dr Sudhodhanan and Smt Devi teacher. Program concluded with the distribution of learning kit, sweets and prasadam

Life is a journey, Enjoy the ride “

Adventure Sports has been one of the exciting sport event in the world. Thrilling and challenging Motor Bike ride is part of this pulsating event. Mr. Santhosh Nambiar who is a pioneer in Bike Riding ,conducted a class for our students not only to familiarize this adventurous sport but also to sensitize the students about the realities and myth about adventure sports and travel.

Kailasnath of class VI made the school proud by securing 1st position in Folk Dance ( category- 2) in Palakkad District Sahodaya Arts Fest 2023.

Educational trip to ISRO- Trivandrum.

“Heard Melodies are sweet, but those unheard are sweeter”

Experiential learning is the process where students involve in direct experience and focused reflection to increase knowledge, value and develop other life skills.

As a part of the outreach curriculum, ‘Budding scientists’ of SRI Vidhyalaya visited the ISRO – Trivandrum.

Rocket launching and exploring the space museum exhilarated the students. Besides visit to the Space Research Centre, they enjoyed the beauty of Kovalam beach and Kanyakumari, Sunrise and Sunset. The visit to memorable Vivekananda rock and a Gandhi Madap reminded
the students the History and glory of our cherished past.

Mahatma Gandhi, more lovingly known as ‘Bapu’, is internationally acknowledged for his doctrine of non-violence that led India to its glorious freedom. To commemorate birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi , SRI Vidhyalaya celebrated Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October 2023.

The celebration began with a special assembly. Sahan of class 3, dressed up as Bapu. Drawing competition made the day colourful. The salient feature of the event was active participation of both students and parents.

Our little champions of SRI VIDHYALAYA participated in the Chess competition organized by BSS Gurukulam School, Alathur on 17 Sept.2023. Our spirited students secured a wonderful result in a tough compettion of 200 students. Considering the fact we have started Chess only this year, the achievement of our yougseters is a tribute to their hardwork and dedication.

Hindi Diwas is celebrated on 14th September every year to commemorate the adoption of Hindi as the official language of India. To mark this special day,Sri Vidhyalaya, celebrated Hindi Diwas with great zeal and enthusiasm. Various activities in Hindi highlighted the special day in the morning assembly.

FRUITS DAY CELEBRATION

With an objective to educate children about the importance and consumption of fruits in regular diet, the KG section of Sri Vidhyalaya celebrated Fruits Day. Speech, action songs colouring and yummy fruit salad made the day wonderful. The day ended with a positive awareness that fruits are better than junk food. “

NATURE AND WILD LIFE SANCTUARY STUDY TOUR

Our students embarked upon a study tour of Parambikulam Wild Life and Tiger Reserve, Palakkad, Kerala, one of the few Tiger Reserves in the world.

The two days trip including bird watch and trekking in the wild sensitized the young minds the urgency and significance of protecting our endangered nature, wild life and environment.

RENOVATED BASKETBALL COURT

To sustain the interest generated in Sports and allied activities, our Basketball Court was renovated with upgrading and fresh painting. The highlight of the inauguration of the new Court by Honorable MLA, Mr.  Babu ,was a spirited match between students and staff, followed by an exhibition match between local Nemmara and Palakkad School girls teams.

Master Aksharesh of IV.B secured second rank in the State level Abacus Exam.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

Investiture ceremony ,to instill Leadership qualities, teamsprit ,communication skill etc.in our young generation ,was inaugurated by Mr. K.L.Radhakrishnan, Additional Superintendent of Police, Palakkad

The ceremony began with a guard of honour and rhythmic drum beat to honour cheif guest. The highlight of the ceremony was felicitating student leaders in various disciplines with badges and shoulder bands. The cheif guest who was also a teacher, emphasized the significance of discipline, as a vital aspect of a good citizenship 

The ceremony was anchored by Ms. Diya .A.R of seventh.

SPORTING NEWS -BASKETBALL

Boys under 16 Basketball team secures 2nd position at the District tournament

Boys under 16 Basketball team won the 2nd position in the District Basketball tournament held at MES College, Mannarkad on 18 June 2023. It was an epic performance by our young team against reputed, much older and experienced teams to win the 2nd position. Senior players , Aadharsh.V, Sreehari.N and Mridhul.N were selected for District team for the state championship. 

 Our young Under 16 Girls team secured a respectable 4th position exhibiting fighting qualities against much older, reputed and experienced teams.

Congratulations to all players to bring more sporting laurels.

The following four players from the Sub Junior Girls Basketball Palakkad District Championship team have been selected for the State camp to be held at Trivandrum.

School Sports Day

School sports day was conducted on 13th and 14th December.Students actively participated in athletic events and bagged 1st ,2nd and 3rd positions

All India Football tournament -Palakkad region was hosted by Sri Vidhyalaya on 1.12.2022. Participants from 5 schools participated and it was jointly organized with Extra marks and Arsenal group

CBSE Cluster Training at Sri Vidhyalaya

A cluster training session was organized at Sri Vidhyalaya on 29.10.22 inviting CBSE schools of palakkad region on the topic ” Fostering creativity and critical thinking” by CBSE’s master trainer Dr. Dinesh Babu.

Onam Celebrations

Onam sports and cultural competitions were held with various sports events, flower arrangements, thiruvathirakali etc.. The highlight was the tug of  war competitions by the students.
